Michael Saylor Calls Bitcoin the "Perfect Capital", Urges Equity-Driven Wealth Strategy
Las Vegas, 29 May 2025 – Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of MicroStrategy, delivered a bold declaration at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, calling Bitcoin (BTC) "the most perfect form of capital ever created." His keynote, titled 21 Ways to Wealth, drew widespread attention across the crypto space for its unapologetic stance on Bitcoin's dominance in the global financial landscape.
During his address, Saylor stated, “Every intelligent person on Earth should want incorruptible, programmable, perfect capital. And there’s only one candidate – Bitcoin.” He urged investors to think long term, urging them to “have conviction, courage, and realign your capital toward Bitcoin.”
Bitcoin vs Traditional Assets
In his trademark persuasive style, Saylor criticised fiat currencies, government bonds, underperforming equities, and even real estate, stating that none of them could match the soundness, security, or growth potential of Bitcoin over time. He challenged both individual and institutional investors to consider reallocating their portfolios into BTC, describing it as a once-in-a-generation asset class.
“Bitcoin is engineered to outperform every other asset – not for a quarter, but for decades,” he asserted.
Equity as a Path to Wealth
Saylor didn’t just stop at Bitcoin. He also emphasised the role of equity strategies in building generational wealth. He cited the success of Japanese investment firm Metaplanet, which surged in valuation from US$10 million to over US$5 billion by strategically leveraging equity partnerships and building a Bitcoin-centric business model.
“This is how you achieve true wealth creation,” said Saylor. “Use equity as a tool to accumulate Bitcoin at scale, with strategic backing and long-term vision.”
Regulation and Compliance Matter
Another key message from Saylor was the importance of regulatory compliance. While often viewed as a grey area by some crypto startups, Saylor insists that companies who play by the rules are better positioned to attract capital, invest in Bitcoin legally, and build sustainable, trustworthy businesses.
“Operating within regulatory frameworks isn’t a burden – it’s an advantage. It enables access to capital markets, institutional partnerships, and long-term growth,” he explained.
The Bigger Picture
Saylor’s speech resonated with many in the crowd, especially as Bitcoin continues to hover around the $100,000 mark in 2025. His words reflect a growing sentiment among institutional investors that Bitcoin is not just an asset but a fundamental shift in how wealth and capital are defined in the 21st century.
With Saylor’s MicroStrategy now holding over 200,000 BTC and companies like Metaplanet following suit, it's clear that Bitcoin is no longer on the fringes of finance – it’s becoming central to how the next generation of capital is being built.
